WASHINGTON, DC –Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-MD) has been named the ranking member of the Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure, a subcommittee under the Committee on Environment and Public Works. She released the following statement:

“I’m honored to be named Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure. In this role, I look forward to shaping legislation that will improve our roads, bridges, tunnels, and waterways.

“In Maryland, that includes everything from rebuilding the Francis Scott Key Bridge to helping stand up the Mid-Atlanic Regional Commission to further drive economic development across our communities.

“By investing in critical transportation infrastructure, we’re generating good-paying jobs. Experts estimate the bipartisan infrastructure law will support 772,000 jobs per year. That legislation serves as a powerful reminder of the impact we can have if we put aside partisan politics and do our jobs on behalf of the American people.

“I look forward to working with Chairman Cramer and my fellow subcommittee members to enact legislation with an eye towards economic impact on Marylanders and Americans writ large.”
