For Immediate Release

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.) released the following statement after the President issued an Executive Order ending collective bargaining rights for many federal workers:
“I asked Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Labor if she would uphold collective bargaining – she couldn’t answer. So then I asked his nominee for Deputy Secretary of Labor if he would uphold collective bargaining — he couldn’t answer.
“And now, the President has decided to attack middle-class families by illegally ending collective bargaining and the very recognition of unions themselves for the patriotic civil servants working at our federal agencies.
“Unions built the middle class. They were here before this President. And they will be here long after.
“I will support any and all efforts against this brazenly illegal attack on unions.”
