“They’re attacking civil servants and guess what? By extension, they’re attacking the people they serve. The people who receive Social Security benefits, like my two aging parents, who have worked their whole lives, like so many of our family members and so many of us who work their whole lives to invest in Social Security so that they could access it when they needed it. My mother who worked for close to 50 years as a receptionist, she did her part. My father who worked as a car salesman…those are the people for whom now they are slashing Social Security, they’re working to slash Medicare and Medicaid, and they’re harming the American people in so doing,” said Senator Alsobrooks.
