Alsobrooks: “How does Elon Musk having access to Social Security lower the cost of prescription drug medications? It doesn’t.”
WOODLAWN, MD – On Monday morning, Senators Angela Alsobrooks and Chris Van Hollen (both D-MD) were joined by Representatives Mfume (MD-07), Olszewski (MD-02), and Elfreth (MD-03), AFGE National Vice President Jason Anderson, union members, and concerned Marylanders to rally for civil servants outside the Social Security Administration.

“Does cutting Medicare lower the cost of eggs? I don’t think so. How does slashing funding at the Social Security Administration cut the cost of gas? How does firing a bunch of civil servants lower the cost of housing? And how does Elon Musk having access to Social Security lower the cost of prescription drug medications? It doesn’t,” said Senator Alsobrooks. “It’s been already a whole month, and we have yet to see this Administration do any of what it promised – a single attempt to lower costs for Marylanders or for the American people…this man is hurting people who voted for him, the people who didn’t vote for him, and the people who did not vote at all. He’s hurting all Americans in a way that is so callous, so callous.”
